To make them, you need some Roving. Now, take a VERY whispy, little, piece and lay it down. Continue with Multi colored roving, around the same size. PLEASE doNOT put one in the same direction of the other. It should turn out looking like a star.
Stop when you have about 6-8 layers. Now, what's different from THIS tutorial is that, you don't waste tons of roving! For this tutorial, you need a Pom Pom. You can get them at Micheals, Joanne's, and every other hobby/craft store. Now, use sparkly pom-poms and LESS roving to show a little sparkle once the Ball is finished, or use more to not show any. I will show sparkle for this tutorial!
Once the Pom Pom is placed in the middle of your "Roving Star" bring the sides up and over, tucking them into eachother.
If you don't fell like it will stay, feel free to add a long piece of roving and wrap it around your whole ball to secure it.
Were almost done! Now, to put it in the Fotae Fotae. This is it! (I will add another post showing where to buy the Fotae Fotae soon)
Simply place the ball in one of the Fotae Fotae Coulunms.
Please note to get one small bowl, and one larger one. Put cold water in the Smaller one, and Hot water in the Larger one. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PUT DAWN OR OTHER DISHSOAP IN THE HOT WATER BOWL.
After all the preparations, dunk the one side in the HOT WATER and take it out. Now, clip it with the other Fotae Fotae.
Now, take it...and SHAKE IT! SHake it 15-20 times, out of the water. Now, dunk it in again--Rinse and Repeat!
Now, after shaking it out of the water, proceed to the cold water bowl.
Now, 2nd time through, shake the Fotae Fotae, but INSIDE the hot water. Do the same out, in, and out!
Check to see if you are done. if it looks like a formed felt ball, remove it from the Fotae Fotae and dip it alone in the cold water bowl. Squeeze to get the water out, and your done!
It takes overnight to dry, so be careful.
You can use them for pom-poms, felt birds, flowers, and anything else you can imagine! I hope you enjoyed this Tutorial, and I hope everyone has a happy new year!
